| Emaar, The Economic City to establish aluminum smelter complex Emaar, The Economic City (Emaar.E.C), the Tadawul-listed company developing King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), and EMAL International, the joint venture of Mubadala Development Company and Dubai Aluminium Company (DUBAL), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding agreement to establish a greenfield aluminium smelter complex in KAEC. The project will have an initial direct investment of SR18.4 billion (US$5 billion) and first phase production design capacity of 700,000 tonnes.
