| Acciona Agua inaugurates largest desalination plan in US  Acciona Agua opened the largest desalination plant in the US, in Tampa, Florida. The plant has a daily capacity of 108,000 cubic metres and will provide at least 10% of the water consumed in the Tampa Bay region. The plant has been completely modernised by Acciona Agua and American Water. The partners will be jointly responsible for operating the plant for the next 18 years. After three years of intense renovation work, the desalination plant has been redesigned and rebuilt and is now optimised and fully automatic.In December, the plant successfully fulfilled all of the prerequisites to commence acceptance tests, which are required by the US authorities in order to grant an operating licence.
