| DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing Georgia-Pacific Gypsum LLC announced significant enhancements of its flagship DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing. Building upon more than 20 years of proven performance, enhanced moisture- and mold-resistant DensGlass Gold is the only fiberglass mat gypsum sheathing with a 12 month weather exposure limited warranty. "The 12-month weather exposure limited warranty is another testament to our ongoing commitment to the building and construction industry, as well as our confidence in our product's strong performance," said Leo Bissonnette, general sales manager for Georgia-Pacific Gypsum. "The proven moisture- and mold-resistant fiberglass mat technology found in DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing is a superior choice for architects and builders who are concerned about construction schedules that might be delayed by adverse weather conditions." DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing features a moisture-resistant core and enhanced fiberglass mats, instead of paper facings, to resist the effects of moisture exposure during and after construction. The enhanced mats: - Offer even better wind uplift resistance, - Make DensGlass Gold easier to handle than ever before, - Reduce the amount of primer needed for self-adhered membranes. DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing has been tested in accordance with ASTM E 330, which evaluates the structural performance of exterior building materials under uniform static air pressure differences, using a test chamber. DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing can withstand winds in excess of 155 mph (Category 5 hurricane) when installed horizontally with the appropriate screw type and spacing over a properly engineered wall system and in accordance with the appropriate specifications. Using the same innovative technology found in DensArmor Plus paperless interior drywall, contractors will notice greater ease of use while handling the DensGlass Gold exterior sheathing. "The Georgia-Pacific Gypsum paperless products, designed as replacements for paper face gypsum products, are easy to handle and deliver high performance with less risk because of their moisture and mold-resistance properties, " said project manager, Chris Malanuk, director of strategic planning for the Medical University of South Carolina. "Hanging the paperless exterior sheathing earlier has a ripple effect on the entire building cycle because other trades such as plumbing and electrical can start work sooner which helps accelerate the schedule." write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
