| Balfour Beatty selected by BAA for the Heathrow Midfield Pier project UK construction giant Balfour Beatty has been selected by BAA to provide pre-construction advice for its Midfield Pier project at Heathrow Airport. The Midfield Pier is part of the proposed Eastern Apron programme of works to realign the taxiway and aircraft stand configuration surrounding Terminals 1 and 2 to a rectilinear layout similar to Terminal 5. The Midfield Pier project will be delivered in three phases, commencing with the £100 million North section planned to commence on site this year.
