| Alfred McAlpine secures new contracts London-based Alfred McAlpine confirms a series of new wins worth over £350 million across all its businesses. In Project Services / Infrastructure Services, Alfred McAlpine has secured a series of civil engineering contracts worth over £150 million, including a further ECI contract for major highway works in the Camborne-Poole-Redruth area, a contract for the construction of the A1 link road between Hemsworth and Barnsdale Bar in Yorkshire and a contract to design and build the A47 Earl Shilton Bypass in Leicestershire. A series of new building contracts has also been secured, worth more than £60 million, including contracts for the construction of a £32 million mixed use scheme in Solihull and two new health centres for the Stockport PCT. In the highways maintenance sector, Alfred McAlpine has won a contract worth up to £36 million with Derby County Council to provide inspection and maintenance services for the Council's roads and pavements until 2012. This contract is the first in the UK highways sector to be awarded under the European Union's new Competitive Dialogue procurement scheme. Business Services has secured in excess of £90m of new work, including a major new contract to provide logistics services for Aggregate Industries at its Glensanda Quarry in the Western Highlands of Scotland. Finally, Alfred McAlpine's Arden Partnership joint venture reached financial close on the £30m Derbyshire project.
