| “German Golf Course Conference” at GaLaBau  From 2008, GaLaBau, the International Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces, is the new forum for the construction, maintenance and management of golf courses in Germany. The "German Golf Course Conference" offers German golf associations and their members – golf course operators, managers, architects and greenkeepers – the opportunity for joint presentation. Some 530,000 golfers and almost 700 golf clubs are currently members of associations in Germany. Today, golf courses are an important landscape design element: from designing the site and laying the grassed areas, paths, sand areas and ponds to the maintenance and operation of the golf course. The theme segments of the "German Golf Course Conference" are therefore also reflected in the subtitle of GaLaBau: Design – Construction – Maintenance.The relevant companies have been present at GaLaBau with products and services for the construction and maintenance of green areas and open spaces for many years – these now include golf courses more than ever. Starting in 2008, they will be joined by highly specialized companies primarily concerned with the construction and maintenance of golf courses. Existing association and professional events will be combined into a large conference in future – the "German Golf Course Conference" in CCN Ost.
