| Lafarge adds Mold Defense Shaftliner to drywall products Lafarge, the leader in building materials and North America's largest diversified supplier of construction materials, introduces the addition of Mold Defense Shaftliner to its growing line of mold resistant drywall products. Designed for use in elevator shafts, duct shafts, stairwells in high-rise construction and area separation walls for multi-family construction, Mold Defense Shaftliner resists mold, mildew growth with the added benefit of moisture resistance on its surface. Independent testing confirmed that Lafarge's Mold Defense products outperform traditional drywall products in resisting the growth of mold and mildew. Mold Defense achieved an average panel score of 10 out of a possible 10 using the ASTM D 3273 testing protocol.
