| Windenergy Conference in Des Moines This coming Tuesday, November 6th, 2007 the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACCoM) is organizing and hosting a conference in Des Moines, Iowa for wind energy. The primary objective of the conference is to open a dialogue for partnership between companies from two of the world's leading countries in wind energy technologies. "There are incredible things happening in Iowa related to renewable energy, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to promote our state to renewable energy industry leaders from Germany, " said Iowa Governor Chet Culver, one of the keynote speakers at this conference, who also spoke recently at the world's largest wind energy trade show, HusumWind, in Husum, Germany. Additional keynote speakers are Robert Gates, President of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and Christine Woerlen, Head of Renewable Energy for the German Energy Agency (DENA). Other leading organizations from the US and Germany will be a part of distinguished speaker panels presenting the US and German wind energy markets. This conference is sponsored by the German Ministry for Economics and Technology (BMWI), and organized by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest in coordination with the German Energy Agency (DENA). It is also supported by the Iowa Department of Economic Development and the American Wind Energy Association. The morning session will focus on the "Wind Energy Market Today and Tomorrow". The afternoon session will feature presentations from German companies on "Innovation and Opportunities for Cooperation".
