WSP has acquired Chas. H. Sells, Inc. the New York-based transport and infrastructure engineering firm, well-known for expertise in bridge design and engineering. Sells operates from eight offices across eastern USA. The firm is currently working on a number of major transport projects in New York City, including the $500 million interim reconstruction of the four-mile long Gowanus Expressway Viaduct and the $250 million replacement of the approach structures to the Bronx Whitestone Bridge. Additionally, Sells provides regular inspection services on some of the world's largest bridges including the Verrazano-Narrows Suspension Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge and the George Washington Suspension Bridge.

WSP Europe has acquired leading German construction consultancy firm CBP Consulting Engineers AG. Headquartered in Munich, the company has offices in eight other German cities and an office in Hungary. CBP provides project management and multi-disciplinary engineering services to the property sector, with a particular focus on the aviation, healthcare, commercial and cultural buildings markets.

CBP's current projects include work on Berlin International Airport; the planning co-ordination of terminal extensions at Frankfurt Airport; project management of the convention and conference centre at the Mercator Hall in the Duisburg City Palais and multi-disciplinary services for a 39,000 square metre mixed use development in the centre of Munich.
