Poyry buys IGW in Germany

Finland-based Poyry has expanded its waste management services portfolio and market presence in the environmental business by acquiring Ingenieurgemeinschaft Witzenhausen Fricke & Turk GmbH (IGW), Germany.

IGW was founded in 1986 as the first consulting engineer to introduce separate collection of organic waste in Germany. IGW's operational base is in Witzenhausen and it is one of the leading companies in Europe for waste management, specialised in mechanical and biological waste treatment. The company's net sales in 2006 amounted to EUR 2 million and it employs 20 experts.
