Jacobs gets contract from British Nuclear Group

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it received an Environmental Services Framework contract from British Nuclear Group Sellafield Ltd (BNGSL) following a successful bidding process.

Sellafield is the U.K.'s largest nuclear reservation, where spent nuclear fuel is reprocessed and recovered nuclear material is made into new nuclear fuel. The site is undergoing a concurrent clean-up of legacy wastes and shut down of facilities.

Jacobs' new contract is a 2-year framework contract for environmental services at Sellafield, including a variety of nuclear and non-nuclear environmental services for works funded by the NDA at the Sellafield, Calder Hall, Low Level Waste Repository, and Capenhurst sites.

Jacobs will be supported by a number of key supply partners including Quintessa, ESI, RM Consultants and REACT Engineering and will continue to use and support the extensive supply chain in the Cumbria area which they developed in the course of previous contracts.
