| Granite Construction awarded $24 million project by Caltrans Granite Construction Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Granite Construction Incorporated, announced that its Nevada Operations has been awarded a $24 million highway reconstruction project by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The project encompasses a three-mile reconstruction of Interstate 80 near the California-Nevada border. Details include construction of a new concrete roadway in the exact alignment of the current roadway, as well as grading, drainage, and leveling to provide wider shoulders along the roadway. Granite's Lockwood Quarry will supply a total of 40,000 tons of hot mix asphalt for this job. A portable concrete plant from Granite's Bartholomew Concrete Paving company will produce 40,000 cubic yards of concrete paving.
