| CDM providing engineering and consulting services in Mozambique CDM has received an additional 1-year contract with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) for engineering consulting services in Mozambique. Following on project assessment and due diligence work performed by CDM earlier this year, the government of Mozambique and the MCC recently signed a 5-year, $507 million compact that seeks to stimulate economic growth and reduce poverty in the country's northern region. MCC is the innovative U.S. government-based funding organization under the Millennium Challenge Account that aims to reduce poverty through economic growth. The water supply and sanitation project is expected to assist some 1.9 million Mozambicans by 2015 through improved water systems, wastewater disposal, and stormwater drainage, while the transportation project is projected to improve access to markets and services for nearly 2.3 million citizens by 2015. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
