| Hochtief to reduce energy costs of Augsburg Hospital Hochtief Facility Management Energy will reduce the energy costs at Augsburg Hospital by 34 percent over the next ten years. A performance contracting agreement to this effect has now been concluded - one of the biggest projects of this type in Germany. Augsburg Hospital comprises a total of 24 clinics and institutes. With energy costs rising and the financial input for gas, district heating, electricity and water already at a very high level, the medical center plans to save energy on a long-term basis. To achive this, it looked for a partner for planning, financing and executing the required refurbishment measures. In its role as contractor, Hochtief now guarantees Augsburg Hospital a savings volume of EUR 2.6 million over the next ten years. To realize this volume, the company will upgrade all of the refrigerating and steam boiler facilities and also large parts of the ventilation system. The financial savings effect will be paralleled by a reduction of the hospital's CO2 emissions by a total of 17,000 metric tons annually. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
