Eiffage announces second quarter sales up 11.6%

Sales reported by the French construction group Eiffage increased by 11.6% in the second quarter of 2007 to reach €5.8 billion in the first half, up 17.1% compared with the first half of 2006. Growth was fuelled by high levels of activity at all of the Contracting divisions (growth of 13.1% year-on-year in the first half) and to the contribution made by the Concessions division where, in addition to good performances in terms of traffic and revenue, there was a favourable base effect since APRR has been consolidated only since 20 February 2006.

The acquisitions strategy pursued by Eiffage in its various business lines in France and the rest of Europe contributed 5.7 percentage points to the growth reported by the Contracting divisions, which recorded organic growth of 7.4%, reflecting the favourable conditions in the group's markets.

Construction maintained a similar high level of growth as in the first quarter, its sales rising by 13% with no consolidation scope effect. Property sales were stable in France and increased sharply in Belgium.

The order book increased to €9.7bn at 1 July 2007, up 21.9% year-on-year, and is equivalent to 11 months of activity.
