| Tamazunchale plant opened in Mexico Mexico's President Felipe Calderón and Iberdrola's Chairman Ignacio Galán co-hosted the official opening of the new combined cycle power plant. The Tamazunchale plant, with an output capacity of 1,135 MW, cost some $500 million to build, and is Mexico's largest combined cycle power station to date. Its commissioning makes the Spanish utility Mexico's largest private electricity producer, and the second-largest overall, after the state-owned Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). The Tamazunchale plant is Iberdrola's largest project to date in Mexico, where it invested another €18 million in the first quarter of 2007. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
