Flatiron promotes Blair Brandon to V.P. of Canadian operations

Flatiron Constructors, Inc., one of the top bridge and highway builders in North America, has promoted Blair Brandon to Vice President of Canadian Operations. Flatiron Constructors has entered the Canadian market in 2004, winning a $125 million contract to design and build a new portion of the Trans-Canada Highway 1 through Kicking Horse Canyon in Golden, British Columbia.

A Canadian himself, Blair Brandon was educated in Ontario and has over 29 years of construction experience. Mr. Brandon previously worked for Matthews Group Ltd., Sureway Construction, and PCL Constructors Northern before joining Flatiron in 2000.

Mr. Brandon joined Flatiron as construction manager for the Carolina Bays Parkway, a $250 million project to design and construct 20 miles of new highway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After completing this award-winning project, Mr. Brandon became the construction manager for another design-build project, the $135 million 10-mile Knightdale Bypass in North Carolina.

In 2004, Mr. Brandon transferred to Flatiron's offices in Vancouver, British Columbia to lead all Canadian operations. Since then, Flatiron has bid more than $1 billion worth of work in Canada as part of public-private partnership (P3) teams, successfully acquiring the aforementioned Kicking Horse Canyon project as well as a $409 million contract to construct a 13-mile portion of the new Calgary Ring Road in Alberta. Mr. Brandon will oversee these two ongoing projects, as well as manage the procurement and operations of additional projects throughout Canada.

Flatiron Constructors, Inc. is a subsidiary of Flatiron Construction Corp., a Royal BAM Group company.
