| BAM acquires three large-scale projects in Germany BAM Deutschland (the German operating company of Dutch construction giant Royal BAM Group nv specialising in non-residential construction) has acquired three projects with a combined value of over €170 million: the construction of an office tower as part of the large-scale development project Frankfurt Hoch Vier, a data centre for Citibank (also in Frankfurt am Main) and the new football stadium for Dynamo Dresden. BAM Deutschland has begun construction on the 134-metre high office tower in Frankfurt am Main, which was commissioned by Bouwfonds MAB Development GmbH. The building, which is part of the Frankfurt Hoch Vier project, has been dubbed 'Tower am Thurn & Taxis Palais' and will provide about 42,000 m² of office space on 35 storeys. The building sum totals €93 million. The sculptured form, glass façades and roof garden at an elevation of 90 metres are striking features of the design by Frankfurt architectural firm KSP Engel und Zimmermann. BAM Deutschland will complete the office tower in early 2009. BAM Deutschland was commissioned by Citibank to build a data centre with an area of 23,000 m² in Frankfurt. The construction value is about €77 million, of which €33 million will go to BAM Deutschland. The project will be completed by early 2008. Joint venture partner is Imtech, which as a technical services provider is responsible for all technology solutions in the data centre as well as the rest of the building. In August, BAM Deutschland subsidiary HBG Stadien- und Sportstättenbau will begin the construction of a new football stadium in Dresden for first-division club Dynamo. The stadium will be able to accommodate 32,400 spectators. The construction value amounts to over €45 million. The stadium will be located on the site of the current, severely outdated Rudolf Harbig-stadion. The transparent façade of the main grandstand along Lennéstreet, which provides a view of the city, is a hallmark of the design by Rostock architectural firm Beyer + Partner architekten.
