| Fluor awarded contract by U.S. Army Fluor Corporation, one of the world's largest publicly owned engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance service organizations, announced that its Government Group was awarded a Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) IV contract by the U.S. Army. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract has a performance period of one base year with nine one-year renewal options. The maximum value to any single yearly contract may be up to $5 billion dollars. Work will be competitively bid by the U.S. Army on a task order basis. Fluor was one of three companies chosen as executing contractors for the U.S. Army's LOGCAP contracts through the competitively bid and highly transparent process which resulted in the best value for the Army. The proposal process lasted approximately 18 months. Established by the U.S. Army to fulfill the Department of Defense's global mission during contingency events, LOGCAP provides the military with additional capabilities to rapidly support and augment the logistic requirements of its deployed forces through use of a civilian contractor. Fluor served the U.S. Government on LOGCAP II as well as in a variety of other areas including mission support in Iraq and Afghanistan, military construction around the world, hurricane relief in Gulf Coast, earthquake relief in the Western United States and nuclear decommissioning at government-owned sites. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
