| Orco Property acquires Dunaj buildings in Bratislava Orco Property Group, a leading investor, developer and asset manager in the Central European real estate and hospitality market, announced the successful acquisition of the Dunaj buildings in Bratislava. Dunaj1 and Dunaj2, incorporate circa 10,000 sqm of retail space and storage area. Orco plans to develop a modern retail space and, in the upper floors, high quality office space. Orco is already in negotiation with a number of potential tenants. The future retail and office tenant mix will represent some well-known brands and companies, as yet unseen in the Slovak capital city. Total investment is estimated at EUR 34 million. Both buildings are located on the Slovak National Uprising Square in the centre of Bratislava. Dunaj1 building is a functionalistic-style building designed in 1936 by the prominent architect Christian Ludwig and was declared a cultural monument in 2002. In the 1980's the Dunaj2 building (formerly Dom Odievania) was constructed directly adjoining Dunaj1. Both Dunaj buildings contain 6 floors and are structurally interconnected. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
