| Ballast Nedam to construct high-rise apartment blocks in The Hague Together with Staedion, Ballast Nedam is developing and constructing three high-rise apartment blocks in the Beatrixkwartier district of The Hague. These 70-metre high structures will contain a total of 200 apartments. The apartment blocks will be sited in the area between the Prinsenhof and Centre Court. This project, which has a development volume of approximately € 75 million, is entirely in keeping with Staedion's goal of investing € 175 million per annum in the construction of 1,000 new dwellings. It is also a logical move for Ballast Nedam, given its enhanced focus on inner-city developments. Ballast Nedam and Staedion are constructing 200 dwellings, 50% of which are for sale, and 50% for rent. Beneath these properties, there will be 5,000 m² of commercial space and 300 parking spaces. The properties are scheduled for completion in mid-2010. The Beatrixkwartier district is situated between the Utrechtsebaan and the Bezuidenhout, within walking distance of The Hague's Central Station and city centre. The Beatrixkwartier district, which is part of Den Haag Nieuw Centrum (The Hague's New Centre), offers facilities for living, working, shopping, services, and recreation within a Central Business District. This is the first development of its kind in the Netherlands. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
