| Tetra Tech to build facility in Huntington Beach Tetra Tech, Inc., one of the largest engineering consulting firms in the world, announced that it will lead a team that has been selected to design, engineer, construct, and start up the Huntington Beach Water Desalination Facility for Poseidon Resources Corporation in Huntington Beach, CA. The Huntington Beach Water Desalination Facility will have the capacity to provide 50 million gallons of high-quality drinking water per day. The facility will produce enough water to meet approximately 7% of Orange County's water needs. On-site storage will also provide a guaranteed supply of safe, reliable drinking water to Orange County in times of emergency, reduce the risk of water shortages, and reduce dependence on imported water. Tetra Tech's team includes J.F. Shea Company, Inc. and Israeli Desalination and Engineering Technologies. J.F. Shea and Tetra Tech are currently working together to build the largest membrane desalination project in Southern California. The project, a 70 million gallon per day reverse osmosis membrane water reclamation plant, is part of the Orange County Water District's Groundwater Replenishment System. Poseidon Resources plans to begin construction of the $250 million Huntington Beach Water Desalination Facility once final permit applications and agreements with the California State Lands Commission and California Coastal Commission are approved. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
