| Hochtief to provide facility management for Mercatorhalle Essen-based Hochtief Facility Management GmbH is to assume responsibility for building and event management in the multifunctional Mercatorhalle in Duisburg. The company has just concluded an agreement to this effect with Duisburg Marketing GmbH for the next five years. The Mercatorhalle, which, among other things, is home to the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, forms part of the new CityPalais, a 35,000 square meter complex which also houses a shopping center and a casino. Here, too, for a period of three years, Hochtief will be responsible for technical and infrastructural management. The client in this case is CityPalais Duisburg GmbH & Co. KG, represented by Hannover Leasing GmbH und Co. KG. The tradition-rich Mercatorhalle was only recently re-opened as a modern convention center, event arena and concert hall. As well as providing technical, commercial and infrastructural facility management, Hochtief is responsible for the smooth functioning of events. It is, for instance, in charge of event engineering, including accounting, and also responsible for looking after the artists who appear here.
