| Acciona Water to build the Carlsbad desalination plant  Acciona Water was presented in California by Poseidon Resources Corporation as the team selected to design, build and start up the largest seawater desalination plant in the USA, in Carlsbad, California. The new Carlsbad desalination plant will produce 204,000 cubic metres of high-quality drinking water per day. It will be the largest plant of its type in the USA and one of the world's top five. The plant is designed using the latest energy saving and recovery technology and complies with California's strict environmental standards.Acciona Water and Poseidon plan to complete the design and final contracts by June 2007, followed by construction, with a view to producing water in 2009. Investment in plant development will total $300 million dollars.
