| Italcementi increases its operations in North America By means of two transactions carried out in North America by Essroc - a wholly owned subsidiary of Ciments Français, which is the Italcementi subholding for international activities - the Italcementi Group increases overall concrete sales, based on 2006 figures, by approximately 4%. In the United States, the vertical development of business operations has been carried out by purchasing the Arrow group, a leading company in the industry based in West Virginia, with manufacturing facilities also in Ohio, West Pennsylvania and South Carolina, that is, in the east of the country, where Essroc is already present in the cement industry with three plants. In Canada, there has been the acquisition of Cambridge, a company active in the area west of Toronto, in the market where Essroc is already present with its Picton cement plant.
