| New flowmeter suitable for harsh environments  Fox Thermal Instruments announced FM and FMcapproved FT2 Thermal Gas Mass Flowmeter and Temperature Transmitter. The FOX Model FT2 provides smart, real-time measurement of two important process variables and supports a wide range of communication protocols, including RS422/RS485-Modbus, ProfibusDP, DeviceNet and Ethernet. The instrument directly measures mass flow rate of air and gases, and provides isolated 4-20 mA and pulse outputs for flow rate, as well as a 4-20 mA output for process gas temperature. Mass flow rate and totalized flow, elapsed time, process gas temperature and alarms are displayed on the meter's 2 x 16 character backlit display.The display is also used in conjunction with the instrument's configuration panel to program flow and temperature settings, pulse output scaling, pipe area, zero flow cutoff, filtering, diagnostics and alarm limits. Convenient FT2 View Software allows users to change meter configuration, collect process data or view measurements from a PC or control station.
