| Hochtief secures contract from Federal Highway Research Institute Hochtief Facility Management GmbH is to assume responsibility for complete technical building management for the Federal Highway Research Institute in Bergisch Gladbach for the next three years. The company has just signed a contract to this effect with the institute, which belongs to the German Ministry for Transport, Construction and Urban Development. As well as technical operation of the buildings and maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment, Hochtief Facility Management will also service and repair the ventilation, climate control, sanitary and compressed air installations. The scope of work on the 20-hectare complex concerns a number of office buildings where about 400 people are employed. In addition, the Essen-based service provider will be responsible for laboratory and research facilities in ten bays, where, among other things, the institute carries out crash tests and studies the properties of asphalt. For almost five years now, Hochtief has been handling maintenance and repair work for the electrical systems in the building.
