| Stone+tec offers ideas on natural stone  Stone+tec 2007, which takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 6-9 June 2007, reflects the whole spectrum of the production chain and individual use of natural stone. Its value and versatility have made natural stone an extremely popular material for interior design. Calibrated standard tiles of natural stone are offered by today's good tiling firms: over 80 per cent of the German tilers include laying such tiles in their range of services. However, natural stone tiles have different requirements for laying than their ceramic counterparts. As the seminars on this subject were very popular at Stone+tec 2003 and 2005, this series of presentations will be continued in 2007. At the seminar on "Recognizing, processing and laying natural stones", experts provide information about technical applications and processing natural stones and show the rules and special material features to be observed.Stone+tec offers a range of gravestones and accessories. A permanent special show of gravestones has existed as an extension of the exhibition at the edge of the Südfriedhof cemetery in Nürnberg since 1981. The model cemetery, which is not actually used for burials, serves as a guiding principle and provides ideas for individual cemetery and gravestone design. The varied designs of graves there convey modern cemetery concepts. The model cemetery is also intended to show that a cemetery is a place for calm, contemplation and meeting people as well as for its actual purpose.
