Ingersoll Rand releases new IQV Series die grinders

Ingersoll Rand introduces new IQV Series GS25 and GR25 professional cordless die grinders. Designed and engineered for automotive and maintenance professionals, the new cordless grinders add to the family of IQV Series cordless tools. The innovative feature on the new grinders is the proprietary, microprocessor-controlled protection. By continuously monitoring tool operation and motor temperature, the microprocessor warns the user by 'pulsing' the motor on and off continuously if the tool begins to overheat. If the maximum temperature limit is reached, the microprocessor disables the tool until it cools to the optimum range. By ensuring the tool is always operating optimally, the protection feature prevents misuse, improves battery runtime, and prolongs tool life.

The 14.4-volt die grinders come in both straight, GS25, and right angle, GR25, configurations, each producing a maximum free speed of 27,500 rpm and 20,000 rpm respectively. In addition to speed, the new grinders also deliver excellent power. The optimized motors outperform most pneumatic grinders, delivering 0.35 horsepower to tackle even the toughest grinding applications.

The dual ball bearing design increases tool reliability, ensuring longer runtimes for increased productivity. The grinders also utilize the same rugged head designs and collets found in their 3108 and 3102 pneumatic grinders.

The grinders feature the patent-pending IQV Grip, a twist-to-lock battery interface that eliminates typical damage to battery mounts and clips by locking the battery securely in place. A metal housing ring wraps around the handle, protecting the battery stem and housing in case the tool is inadvertently dropped. The grinders' composite housing protects the tool against harsh fluids common in automotive and industrial environments. The grinders are compatible with IQV 14.4-volt lithium-ion and nickel-cadmium batteries.
