| CDM formalizes partnership with ICLEI on climate change CDM, the global consulting, engineering, construction, and operations firm, and ICLEI—Local Governments for Sustainability, the leading association of local governments working to protect the climate—have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote the mission and capabilities of each organization and collaborate on climate change and sustainable development projects. The MOU establishes a common understanding of the relationship between the two organizations and provides a basis for further successful joint initiatives to benefit cities, towns, counties, and regional authorities across the United States. Under the terms of the agreement, CDM will provide planning, engineering, and design expertise on greenhouse gas mitigation and adaptation planning efforts, and work with ICLEI to identify additional joint projects that apply the skills and resources of both organizations. CDM will also continue supporting national and significant regional ICLEI events that have broad municipal participation and value. At the same time, ICLEI will identify opportunities to highlight the work and expertise of CDM in greenhouse gas management and climate change adaptation planning. CDM and ICLEI are already completing a joint project to build renewable energy demonstration projects in the Gulf Coast Region and promote policies and initiatives that incorporate clean energy into the region's redevelopment and economic growth planning. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Construction News :: home page |
