| Dynamically programmable LED driver from Sipex Sipex Corporation announced SP7618, the dynamically programmable LED driver capable of driving next generation low forward voltage LEDs up to 1 Amp for Flash and other applications. The SP7618 allows for on-the-fly dynamic programming of the LED drive current from 33mA to 1A. Low dropout voltage gives the ability to drive the LED directly from a single cell Li-Ion or three alkaline batteries in series without the additional cost of a boost regulator. LED lighting applications may benefit from the ability to dynamically change current level and PWM width at the same time. Sipex also released the SP7619 and SP7619A Flash Drivers. These devices allow the user to select from two pre-set current levels. The SP7619 offers selectable outputs of 200mA and 500mA, and the SP7619A offers selectable outputs of 200mA and 700mA.
