New shock absorbing GaStrut technology

Parker Hannifin's Hydraulic Accumulator Division introduces the new Accumulator GaStrut technology to absorb shock in heavy-duty mobile suspension applications such as mining and construction equipment. Integrating cylinder and accumulator technologies, the GaStrut utilizes a compact, robust piston design in a high-pressure nitrogen atmosphere. This improves shock-absorption, allowing for increased vehicle speed and less operator fatigue, which results in higher overall productivity. The GaStrut has also proven to double the life of the suspension unit in such heavy-duty applications as mobile mining equipment.

This lowers maintenance costs and downtime for major overhauls common with air bag and conventional spring suspensions. The GaStrut also carries lower installation costs than these designs.

Initial GaStrut design applications include mining and construction mobile equipment where demanding, high force loads often cause premature failure of air bag and conventional suspension systems.
