| Metronet appoints new independent Chairman Metronet Rail, responsible for the renewal of two thirds of the London Tube, announced the appointment of Graham Pimlott as non-executive Chairman. Graham Pimlott (57) will become Chairman of Metronet with effect from 9 January, 2007. He succeeds Keith Clarke in the post, who has been Chairman since April 2005. Graham was a non-executive director of both Tesco Plc, and of Hammerson Plc, for 12 years until 2005. He is currently Chairman of the Export Credit Guarantee Department (ECGD) and Tilney Group. Working in partnership with London Underground, Metronet has responsibility for renewing nine of the twelve lines on the entire network and will spend £17 billion during its 30-year contract.
