John Holland awarded $180 million contract for Auburn facility

The John Holland Group, one of Australia’s largest contractors, has been awarded a $180 million contract as part of the Reliance Rail Consortium. The contract includes Design and Construction of the Maintenance Facility Component for the supply and maintenance contract for new rolling stock for RailCorp.

Involving two divisions of John Holland, NSW Region and Rail, the multidisciplinary scope of work includes:
design and construction of the maintenance facility at Auburn;
associated siteworks;
trackworks;
infrastructure involving building, rail infrastructure and civil engineering.

The Reliance Rail PPP will see the supply of 626 double-deck passenger railcars which are to be maintained over a period of 30 years. John Holland is contracted directly to EDI Rail, a division of Downer EDI Limited.
