DHV to engineer solar cell production facility for Arise

Arise Technologies Corporation from Canada has selected DHV to design its new 80 MW solar cell production facility in Bischofswerda, Germany. DHV will be responsible for the entire design of the production facility, including architectural design, structural engineering and building and process related installations. The consultancy and engineering group will also be responsible for hook up and construction supervision. The 80 MW facility has a gross surface area of 13, 000 m2, divided across two floors. The facility is to be ready for production in mid April 2008.

Currently, a solar cell production facility for Photovoltech in Tienen, Belgium, designed by DHV, is being built. In 2004 DHV also drew up the functional design for Solland Solar's first production facility at the Avantis cross border Science and Business Park near Heerlen (the Netherlands) and Aachen (Germany).
