| Morgan Est upgrades Shepherd's Bush ticket hall Shepherd's Bush (Central Line) station ticket hall is set to almost double in size from 795 m² to 1,330 m² with the award of a £14.6 million re-modelling scheme to Morgan Est, the infrastructure services division of construction group Morgan Sindall plc, by retail property developer Westfield Shopping Towns Limited. The two-year scheme - part of the new landmark retail and leisure development Westfield London - involves the upgrading and remodelling of the station's ticket hall and other transport improvements in the area as part of the London Underground (LU), Alternative Provider Framework Agreement. The Shepherd's Bush station development is a partnership between LU and Westfield Shopping Towns Limited. When complete, it is estimated to increase passenger usage of the station by 40 per cent. This station works scheme is one of two projects which Morgan Est is carrying out at Shepherd's Bush station. It follows the award in September of a £33 million programme of Underground works the company is undertaking for LU which will provide congestion relief and improve access for disabled and other travellers. The above ground works at Shepherd's Bush station are due for completion in October 2008. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
