| Tractor-mounted crane with six-section boom Manitowoc Crane Group introduces a prototype of tractor-mounted boom truck, the 684H-TM. Part of the 600H Series, the 20-ton capacity 684H-TM features a six-section, 84-foot front-mounted boom, making this machine ideal for lifting truss booms. When retracted, the length of the boom is a compact 19 feet. The 84-foot boom also has an optional 29- to 45-foot telescopic swingaway jib available. H-style outriggers are incorporated into the 684H-TM's design, which allow for full-span, mid-span, and fully retracted outrigger positions. The Hirschmann Mentor LMI with the Work Area Definition System is standard equipment. The tractor chassis featured a 60,000-pound GVWR, a 410-hp Caterpillar C12 turbo diesel engine, and a nine-speed transmission. Options include a single front outrigger for 360° chart on stand-up models, radio remote controls, and a personnel basket. The boom is also available in behind the cab or rear-mounted configurations. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
