Acciona to construct largest wind farm ever in Australia

Acciona Energy has started building the Waubra wind farm in Victoria (Australia), the largest of the 154 farms that the company has installed across the world. The Waubra wind farm will produce 192 MW from 128 1.5 MW wind turbines manufactured with Acciona Windpower technology, and represents an investment of 238 million euros. The wind farm will be the second one to be developed by the company in Australia, after Cathedral Rocks (66 MW), in South Australia.

The Waubra wind farm will avoid emissions of 750,000 tonnes of CO2, the equivalent of removing 170,000 cars from the roads for one year, and will produce enough electricity to cover the annual demand of 143,000 Australian homes.
