DeWalt launches new worklight charger

DeWalt will launch new cordless/corded fluorescent worklight/charger, DC022. The new compact worklight includes an area light, dual port battery charger, and three GFCI power outlets for the jobsite.

Available in February 2007, the DC022 is ideal for plumbers, electricians, mechanical contractors, general contractors, elevator technicians, installers, and punch-out crews, and can be used wherever additional lighting is required to complete applications, such as dark rooms, crawl spaces, and basements.

DeWalt designed the DC022 to provide users with a solution for the jobsite by combining area lighting, a dual port battery charger and GFCI protection. The DC022 worklight is equipped with a 38W fluorescent bulb that can run on 12V-18V DeWalt batteries or AC Power. The 38W bulb generates a softer, brighter light while providing a longer bulb life, increased durability, and a low amp draw compared to halogen portable worklights that produce intense heat and glaring light. The dual port charger charges two 7.2V-18V DeWalt batteries in an hour or less. In addition, the DC022 has three GFCI protected power outlets for additional jobsite power solutions and helps eliminate the need for a triple tap or power strip. The unit also has a Green LED indicator on top of the charger housing that illuminates to signal AC Power and GFCI protection for the entire unit to include the light, chargers, and outlets.

The compact, fold-up design of the DC022 allows the end user to easily transport, store and set up the unit. The worklight also includes spring-loaded battery hold downs to keep 7.2V-18V batteries in place for transporting, a tool-free bulb replacement, and an easy to adjust worklight housing that allows users to rotate the light over 180º and adjust it in the desired position for use.
