Leighton wins contract for a highway extension in Australia

Hochtief's Australian subsidiary Leighton has been awarded a contract by the Queensland Department of Main Roads to build another highway in the region. The contract has a volume of almost EUR 60 million. Leighton Contractors Limited will construct an extension to the Centenary Highway at Springfield through to the Cunningham Highway at Yamanto. On-site works are scheduled to run from November 2006 to late 2008.

In the Brisbane region, Leighton is currently delivering a number of other projects. These include the Gateway Bridge Update (EUR 1.12 billion), the six-lane Ipswich Motorway (EUR 118 million) and the Brisbane Tunnel.
