| Shaw site receives Carolina Building Star Award  The Shaw Group Inc. announced that its Shaw Stone & Webster business unit and its consortium partner, Alstom Environmental Control Systems, celebrated one million safe work hours at Duke Energy's Belews Creek Steam Station in Walnut Cove, NC. In recognition of the achievement, the North Carolina Department of Labor presented the prestigious Carolina Building Star Award to the project team.Duke Energy's Belews Creek Steam Station is the second power plant to be retrofitted under the Shaw/Alstom alliance agreement with Duke Energy for its FGD Retrofit Program.Under the terms of the agreement, Shaw and Alstom will retrofit 12 electricity generating units (6,600 megawatts) at four power stations owned by Duke Energy. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
