Two new wertical shaft Vanguard Big Blocks

Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power announced two vertical shaft Big Block engines to its line-up of horizontal shaft Big Block engines, the 895 and 993 cc. The Vanguard V-Twin Big Block air-cooled engines feature an advanced debris management system that is incorporated into the engine's air-cooling system and allowing the engine to run cooler and cleaner, while enhancing durability and performance. Innovative, tuned intake and exhaust systems provide a quieter running engine. Vanguard V-Twin Big Block engines are also available for applications that require liquid-cooled power.

Vanguard Big Blocks are based on V-Twin/Overhead Valve technology that reduces component and equipment wear and tear while providing superior balance and low vibration. Steel-backed aluminum bearings contribute to increased load capacity and reduced engine noise, while an innovative intake and exhaust system and large-volume muffler are tuned to provide a quieter running engine. A lightweight aluminum block increases power-to-weight ratio by reducing overall equipment weight. In addition, a centrifugal, multi-stage industrial air cleaner provides ultimate engine protection, especially under dirty, dusty conditions.
