| Sir Robert McAlpine won BCIA Regeneration Award Sir Robert McAlpine, as part of the team to construct Perth Concert Hall, has won the Regeneration Award at the prestigious British Construction Industry Awards. The Award was presented in recognition of the significant contribution made by the project to the regeneration of Perth. When announcing the £13m, 1,200-seat theatre as winner, the judges highlighted it as a fine example of how a cultural building can contribute strongly to a regeneration programme and commended the efforts of the project team as; "a great result delivered by a close knit design & build team." Sir Robert McAlpine has recently won a further two awards for projects in Scotland. A commendation was received from the Saltire Society Awards for Civil Engineering, for bridge and A8 highway works, as part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Headquarters project at Gogarburn near Edinburgh and the Marine Operations Centre at Aberdeen Harbour won the Aberdeen Civic Society Award. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Construction News :: home page |
