| Metal cored wires for high tensile strength applications  Hobart Brothers introduces high strength filler metal options to its Metalloy family of gas-shielded metal cored wires: Metalloy 90, Metalloy 100 and Metalloy 110. Designed to give welders comprehensive metal cored wire options when welding high tensile strength steels such as A514, A517, HY-80, and A710, these wires are suitable for welding castings, heavy equipment, ships, pressure vessels, and offshore oil rigs and platforms. Formulated for use with an Argon/CO2 shielding gas mixture, the Metalloy 90, 100 and 110 wires offer high Charpy V-Notch impact values at temperatures as low as -60ºF. Each type of wire is suitable for single- or multi-pass applications and is available in .045-in. and 1/16-in. diameters.The Metalloy 90, 100 and 110 metal cored wires offer superior bead appearance with minimal spatter and excellent wetting action, along with the ability to bridge part gaps without burn-through.
