Molybdate free additive fights corrosion

Cortec's new additive VpCI-647 offers a non-toxic, environmentally safe solution for fighting corrosion, scale deposits, and sludge. VpCI-647 does not contain molybdate, heavy metals, nitrites, or inorganic phosphates.

This innovative product offers effective protection without the problems of fouling encountered in conventional non-chrome systems. VpCI-647 is designed for open loop cooling water systems, providing corrosion and scale deposits protection for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Being molybdate free, VpCI-647 offers cost saving benefits for customers; it eliminates the costs for molybdate reduction and sludge disposal, reducing maintenance time and associated costs.

VpCI-647 is a combination of organic phosphorous compounds, polymers, aromatic azoles, and it utilizes Cortec's proprietary Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibiting technology. This product provides both contact and vapor phase inhibition to protect the metals. First, VpCI-647 forms a thin inhibiting film onto the metal surface to prevent corrosion and pitting to parts that are in direct contact with the solution. Second, its vapor phase action protects parts that are not in direct contact with the solution such as headspaces in standby systems. VpCI-647 also incorporates an anti-scalant to maintain heat transfer efficiency.

VpCI-647 is a clear amber liquid that is applied directly into the system and does not require premixing. VpCI-647 is available in 5 gallon containers, 55 gallon drums, liquid totes, and bulk.
