| Carillion wins £200 million Middle East contract Support services and construction company Carillion has won a £200m contract through its Middle East joint venture, Al Futtaim Carillion, for the construction of a large residential complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Motor City Uptown Area 2 involves the construction of 34 residential properties of between three, four and six storeys, for developers Union Properties PJSC. Uptown Area 2 is part of the Motor City Development which also includes the Dubai Autodrome, Formula One Theme Park, Business Park Motor City and another residential area, Green Community Motor City. It is located adjacent to the Emirates Road, a principal highway running around the perimeter of Dubai. Al Futtaim Carillion has already been awarded the £40m contract for Motor City's infrastructure and landscaping, which began on site in April 2006.
