HDR provides engineering study for Brooklyn-Queens Expressway

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has selected HDR as the prime consultant to perform engineering (scoping) services for rehabilitation of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway between Atlantic Avenue and Sands Street in Brooklyn, N.Y. This 57-year-old segment of the BQE includes the complex and unique triple cantilever section that supports the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. The project also includes approximately 21 other bridges including connections to the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. Construction costs for the rehabilitation project are estimated at $200 million.
