Corus collaborates with AJ for new Metalworks

A joint publishing collaboration between Corus and The Architects' Journal (AJ), the new Metalworks will push the boundaries of standard technical publications.

Metalworks - a 32-page publication published twice yearly (Spring/Autumn) with AJ. A monthly electronic technical steel newsletter - emailed to 14,000 AJPlus subscribers on the last Thursday of every month.

Each publication will feature two substantial information-rich articles relating directly to metal or the use of metal in the context of buildings and structures. One will revisit a high-profile building designed by an established architect, whilst the second will showcase a project by one of the up-and-coming practices identified in the AJ/Corus 40 Under 40 competition.

In the first issue, the AJ/Corus 'hit squad' sit down with Bryan Avery to reflect on the design of the £12 million IMAX cinema at London's Waterloo Station, and assess how it has survived its first seven years. Whilst Ian McChesney finds himself in the spotlight as the featured AJ/Corus 40 under 40 architect, discussing his award winning series of swivelling wind shelters for Blackpool's south shore promenade.

To complement the bi-annual paper publication, a monthly electronic newsletter will provide subscribers with the latest news and announcements from Corus and the steel/aluminium industry, information on forthcoming awards and events plus details of new literature and publications.
