Adchem introduces new adhesive tapes

Adchem Corporation has introduced 4377M and 4380M adhesive tapes. The multipurpose 4377M and 4380M, were originally designed for the automotive industry, and are ideal for demanding foam bonding applications with stringent insulation and sound reduction requirements. Adchem's 4377M is designed with a high tack, high peel, moderate shear rubber-based adhesive coating on the liner side and a high-tack, low shear acrylic adhesive coating on the exposed side, and a ½ mil polyester film carrier to facilitate die cutting. The adhesive coating has an exposed side of 1.3 mils and a liner side of 1.4 mils.

The 12-pt natural polycoated kraft liner is well suited for kiss cutting. Similar in design, the higher caliper exposed side of 4380M provides improved temperature resistance. Additionally, both the 4377M and 4380M have been engineered to meet the requirements of industry standard automotive specifications.

The design of these products allows the exposed side of the adhesive to bond to more than 30 popular foam materials, including urethanes, epichlorohydrins, and EPDM blends. The liner side of the adhesive provides superior bonding properties to surfaces such as talc-filled polypropylene, mica-filled polypropylene, and mineral-filled nylons.
