| Clark to construct 300 New Jersey Avenue in Washington, D.C. Work has started on a new 10-story above-grade office building that will connect to the Acacia Building at 51 Louisiana Avenue, N.W. – one of the closest commercial office buildings to the U.S. Capitol – for the law firm of Jones Day. The JBG Companies of Chevy Chase, Md. awarded Clark Construction Group, LLC a contract to construct the new building and atrium, to be known as 300 New Jersey Avenue, N.W., which will replace a parking garage built in 1971. Designed by renowned British architect Lord Richard Rogers, the project features floor-to-ceiling windows, a six-level below-grade garage, and a dramatic atrium that will connect the new building to the existing historic structure, built in the 1930s. The project will be one of the first commercial office buildings designed by Richard Rogers Partnership to be built in the United States. HKS of Dallas is the architect of record for this project. Additional team members include TOLK of Fairfax, Va., MEP engineer; SK&A of Rockville, Md., structural engineer; ParkerRodriguez of Alexandria, Va., landscape architect; and EK of Reston, Va., civil engineer.
